![]() ![]() Highly recommended, and even though it's $15/quart, it's good for at least 60,000 miles. I am using the Amsoil synthetic MTG 75W-90 GL-4 in my AWD M/T Previa and the shifts are less notchy, no more synchro grinding going into 2, 3, or R (which used to happen occassionally with the old 75W-90 GL-5 conventional gear oil I had in there), and just smoother operation in general. I am only aware of premium synthetic oil brands that still make it (RedLine MT-90 and Amsoil "MTG"). GL-4 gear oil can be very difficult to find. NOTE: Use GL-4 to protect brass synchros, GL-5 can cause additional wear to yellow metals. ![]() SAE 75W-90 multipurpose gear oil API GL-4 or GL-5 Radiator Overflow Bottle, Radio/CD (see also A/C Control or TV Screen), Radio. Total Capacity = 12.3 quarts (13 quarts for vehicles with towing kit) Toyota Previa, Toyota Prius, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Sequoia, Toyota Sienna, Toyota. The oil reservoir system is overkill IMO, and in my case, was doing more harm than good.ġ.4 quarts 75W-90 Multipurpose Gear Oil API GL-4 or GL-5 ![]() If you are takling about the external oil tank, you dont need the pump, you need to replace the oil tank level sensor. I have run 5 Previa engines (3 original, 2 JDM), and not one of them ever consumed any oil during a 3-4k mile oil change interval. changed the oil pump of my toyota previa but it is not lubricating the oil pump of the Toyota previa was not good so - Toyota 1991 Previa question. Reservoir tank: The reservoir tank stores excess coolant fluid until required. That only had to happen once for me to swear off the system entirely. NOTE: I have the reservoir tank disabled because the float sensor got stuck in the low position an overfilled my engine by over a quart. The interesting part came when I completely cleaned and flushed the coolant reservoir tank with a the yard water hose. Oil: 80W-90 Hypoid Gear oil API GL-5 (SAE 90 if you live where temps never drop below 0 F)ĭrain and Fill (w/ filter change) = 6.1 quarts (6 quarts is fine, that's what I use, always reaches the top of the "FULL" mark) After unscrewing the bottom radiator drain plug to drain coolant, I ran a yard water hose (with on/off hand grip for control) from the top radiator inlet hole and flushed out the old coolant. If I let it drain overnight like this, I get out around 4 quarts, or about 2/3 total capacity. NOTE: I raise the front of the van when I drain, which tips more fluid out. ![]()
